What's the difference between Free and a paid plan?
Free gives you 20 AI logs a month — photo, voice or text — plus unlimited barcode scanning and manual entry, the Today ring, and Apple Health / Health Connect reads. Paid lifts the 20-log cap and adds full history, the Watch + Live Activity experience on iOS, and two-way health writes.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions are managed by Apple in iOS Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period, and Apple's 14-day refund window applies.
Where are my food photos uploaded?
By default photos are processed on-device using Apple's Vision framework where possible, then a low-resolution crop is sent to our vision model for nutrition resolution. We do not retain photos after the result returns. You can disable cloud processing entirely in Settings.
What does Apple Health permissions look like?
Cibo only requests the metrics it needs: steps, active and resting energy, body mass (read), and energy + macronutrients + sodium + sugar (write). You can revoke any of these at any time from the Health app.
Does it work offline?
Yes for text and barcode input, which work fully offline against a local product database. Photo and voice need a connection for the AI step, then sync your logs back when you're online.
How do refunds work?
Both Monthly and Yearly follow Apple's 14-day refund policy via reportaproblem.apple.com. If you forget to cancel before renewal, request a refund within 14 days and Apple processes it directly.
How to delete your Cibo account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. There are two paths:
Option 1 — From the Cibo app (fastest)
- Open Cibo on your iPhone
- Go to Settings tab (the bottom-right tab)
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
- Confirm
Option 2 — Email us
Email [email protected] from the Apple ID address associated with your account, with the subject line “Delete my account”. We'll process the deletion within 30 days as required by GDPR Article 17.
What gets deleted: all your meals, profile fields, history, photos (we don't retain these to begin with), and account record. Payment records are kept for 5 years to satisfy Polish tax law (Art. 70 of the Polish Tax Ordinance); they're unlinked from your identity once your account is gone.
App Store subscription: cancel separately in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. We don't have access to cancel Apple subscriptions for you.
